Help me give my students the opportunity to code! My students will be able to make these Sphero balls move! This hands-on experience will allow them to interact with robots and show them the effects of coding.
This project expired on January 27, 2019.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
My students are creative and enthusiastic about engineering. I am working with 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade students that come from disadvantaged homes that lack educational resources. We are our an inclusive school and make sure students from Special Day Classes get the opportunity to participate in STEAM lessons. My students are always excited when we are focusing on engineering lessons and the design process. We are starting a STEAM lab on our campus and the students have created a list of essential and dream items to fill our lab. With the help of your donation you can make their dreams a reality.
Have you ever wondered how something worked? So have my students! Their inquisitive minds are questioning and examining how things work and interact every day.
Spheros aren’t just fun; they are also an excellent teaching tool.
Students will be using them to learn everything from geometry to take a first step into computer programming. The Sphero balls will be a part of our STEAM Lab that we are beginning to design at school. We are have students learn more about coding and the Sphero balls would be the perfect fit to extend their coding lessons. Students will be able to use the Sphero balls by coding on their Chromebooks. Students will be able to see how their coding effects the movement of the balls. Students will have the opportunity to code their Sphero balls to make them follow a path trough a virtual obstacle course. I know the Sphero balls will add a higher level of engagement to their lessons.
