My Students

My class this year has enjoyed learning about the coding through some floor mat coding activity game I bought for them. Now they would like to know how it works with robots. They also are enjoying the i-ready math program teaching them the math part of coding. We have a very diverse community with many different backgrounds.

We are enjoying coding skills and how they work and would like to try using this skill to program a type of robot.

My students love to learn new facts about coding and would like to use these skills they have learned by using them with robots.

My Project

As a new kindergarten teacher, I would like to give my students a jump start by teaching them some simple coding skills while they are in kindergarten. I feel this will give them a positive, I can do hard things, attitude to make them more successful when they start coding in the upper grades.

Coding is the way of the 21st century and we want to be ready!

This project will help us to become great coding students in the future. Helping us to learn how to do hard things.

We will do this by using the code and go mouse activity centers I'm asking for. My students will be able to code the mouse and make it go how they wish. We will use this during science time, working together as teams, to code our mouse.
