My Students

Computer Programming is the future. Our third and fourth graders are diving into computer programming with our after school club. This is our second year and these students are more excited than ever. Starting with a program called code.org, the students have grown to have discussions using computer programming language and even designing their own games.

This club provides both girls and boys of all levels the opportunity to learn what coding and be prepared for future careers.

Most students already have their interests developed by middle school. Exposing students to programming at a young age can allow them to see that anyone can program with practice and guidance.

My Project

My students need tablets to program our Dash and Dot robots from Wonder Workshop. Right now my students are using cellphones from home. Since most of them are very young, they do not have cellphones and we are sharing one or two between 20 students.

This year my third and fourth graders will join a world wide competition using these robots and we need tablets to program them.

Learning computer programming at such a young age will provide these student with a head start on the careers of the future. Competing will teach these students teamwork and help build character.
