My Students

I am a Library Media Specialist at an elementary school. I am very lucky to work with every student in the school including grades PreK through 5th. The students that I work with are from a variety of backgrounds, and have a variety of needs. These students are bright, curious, and always adventurous!

The students that I teach love to come to Media.

They look forward to getting books as well as using the technology available to them. My students are always looking for new things to experience and learn. They love challenges!

My Project

Using robots such as Ozobots makes learning coding fun and exciting for students of all ages. Coding is an important skill for today's students to learn to be successful in a technology rich world. Coding strengthens communication skills, both written and verbal. It also fosters focus and good organizational skills in students.

Incorporating Ozobots with Library Media skills will enhance the learning experience dramatically.

Using the robots adds a motivating hands-ons element to any topic in the classroom. The Ozobots will help promote 21st Century skills such as collaboration, digital literacy, problem solving, and critical thinking in the Media Center.
