Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are economically disadvantaged and of Hispanic origin. It is really hard for them to concentrate at school as we know that there are many areas that affect their learning process. My school has been trying to support many students since we received refugees on our campus. Some of my students are new to the country and have never been to school before.

My students are special, caring, creative and spontaneous explorers with an eagerness for learning, but of course they have needs to cover.

At the end, they are just kids looking for attention and fun.

My students are very lovable and sweet; however, they need motivation. Nowadays, it is even more complicated to motivate students since they carry different stories from home. I want to be that person that inspires them and help them make wonderful changes in their lives. Day by day, I give my best to help them grow and help them pursue their dreams. Most importantly, I believe in them. Dreams shouldn't stop for natural forces. Let's bring hope back again.

My Project

Students need to be working on college readiness since elementary grades. It is their first year taking STAAR and a good way to start preparing them for what life will be all out. Life is all about challenges, not giving up. They need to start getting that confidence in order to be able to succeed. My students lack that confidence since they are ELLs. With the use of the Dash robots, they will be able to code to solve activities that will improve their English skills as well as their Math and Reading skills. Through the use of technology, kids are engaged and are already practicing using tools for the life that is awaiting them after school. We need to expose them and keep helping them to be up to date to succeed in all ways.
