My Project

My students don't have accessibility to many robotics or coding platforms. Bee-Bots were discovered at a local engineering conference where texts (both fiction and non-fiction) could be used to help identify key elements like beginning/middle/endings; growth cycles of plants etc., connecting what students are learning about across standards into a technology space with programmable robots!

I'm excited to expose even our youngest learners to connecting their core standards into programmable language as they code a robot!

As a classroom teacher of 16 years now teaching STEM across the school, I have an intensive background of literacy as a Reading Specialist and am a National Board Certified Teacher in Reading/Literacy. While I have poured everything I can into building this program this year from the ground up, I lack technology needed for a true "STEM" program. These programmable robots will allow me to deepen students' understanding of key literacy skills, all while using coding and problem solving to understand the sequencing and order of events.
