This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have a great class! I have parents who are willing to help them at home when needed. My first-grade students come from low-income families. All students receive free breakfast and lunch. For many of my students English is not their first language. I use many pictures to introduce and explain new vocabulary.

My classroom is also a technology-enriched environment with students who are eager to learn.

They are always excited to learn and I couldn't have asked for a better class!

My Project

This project is to help give more of my students in my classroom a chance to code. We have started to learn a little bit about coding and they seem to enjoy it. I hope to get a chance to have my students create the code for these robots to move around the classroom.

I want my students to learn how to have fun with coding!

I am able to use the coding kits for students to learn how to move their robot around. I also will have word mats. Students will have to code their robot to move to the given word. This gives students a chance to code and practice their reading in a fun way!
