Ms. Allen from Moss Point MS is requesting educational kits & games through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students KIBO 21 kit so they can make and create for the ultimate coding experience during literacy and other academic subjects.

My students are from Mississippi. Their location does not define who they are. They are smart, spunky, and full of personality, and they come in every day ready to learn! They come from a range of different backgrounds, but they all have one common mindset. They have the mindsets of champions. They walk in my classroom and own their learning by taking full responsibility for their work. They exceed my expectations daily.
My class inspires me to give it 100% every day.
This is why I chose to do this project. I want to give them the best so they can continue to strive for excellence and be the champions they are.
This summer I attended the Pathfinders Summit Institute in Bloomington, Indiana. During this training, I gained so much knowledge on STEM and how to implement Computer Science in my 1st grade classroom. The training I attended taught me how to use the KIBO robot in my classroom to help my students learn to code, critically think and problem solve. The KIBO robot and Dash Robot will be used to retell and create new stories during reading instruction. Student-made puppets and characters can be attached to each robot in order to make them come to life. Each robot has features and special effects such as light, sound and voice recognition by building and attaching the different coding block to code KIBO. With KIBO you can also build KIBO up by adding different sensors to activate a special features that allows students to record their own voice or create a voice for a character to create their own story or respond to light. Other uses for KIBO will be during informational text to recall the life cycle of a butterfly, tell how plants grow, or to solve word problem during math instruction. During recalling and retelling pictures of characters, or objects from informational text can be attached to KIBO to create a scenes. The accessories such as Wonder Workshop Launcher for Dash Robot can be used during math to play a game of addition or subtraction or to work out a word problem . KIBO and Dash Robot will be used in every subject. In this project my class will show that STEM and literacy really do go together! They’re best friends!
