Coding and Robotics Is for Everyone!

Help me give my students exposure to coding and robotics in middle school! We will be competing with middle schools across the division.

My Project

ACPS teachers are collaborating to develop a division-wide program for robotics at the middle school level to ensure a strong pipeline into technology, engineering, and robotics in high school. Students at our middle school have been exploring robotics during club time. We would like to increase the number of students who can experience coding by doubling the number of robots! The FLL program comes with lesson plans, a robot, and a game board with missions that the robot attempts in order to earn points in competition.

ACPS teachers will host a division-wide FLL competition in the Spring of 2025.

Teams from Walton, Burley, Lakeside, Henley and Journey will compete to see who can earn the most points at the robot game table. Participation in the competition is optional, but it is an exciting way to motivate the team to work together to improve their robot and coding.

With your support, students who have an interest in coding and robotics will be provided an avenue for honing their skills, while also being challenged to balance their technological skills with communication to work together as a team to improve their score. Any student is welcome to participate in this program, regardless of their level of experience with coding or robotics. Thank you for your support bringing this exciting experience to our school!
