My Students
My students are incredible people. Each day I work with a different elementary grade level. Our community faces many challenges that often arise in a low socioeconomic area. Our students struggle with chronic absenteeism, while their families face an array of challenges including homelessness (which we refer to as "houselessness" since your home is where your heart is).
Despite the challenges that our students face, they are open, caring, have a genuine curiosity about the world and unlimited potential.
My Project
I work with students from Kindergarten through 6th grade. This year we are doing some really incredible block coding on computers and with the Unruly SPLAT program. Next semester we are even expanding our program to include robots! When my students are working with their computers they need to use headphones so that they can hear their programs without distracting their peers. An added bonus is that by having durable headphones, they will last longer and have a smaller environmental footprint.
My goal is to provide my students with quality, comfortable headphones so that they can become coding All Stars.
