Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Knowledge of technology is such an important skill in this generation of students. Students must also learn to think creatively and work collaboratively with others. I want to provide my students with exciting experiences that will help them in these important areas.

I am a blessed teacher with bright and inquisitive, amazing first graders.

They never cease to amaze me with their fearless attitude when it comes to learning new things. Our school is considered Title I. Although our school district does everything it can to provide as many resources as possible for our students, often the resources I would like to provide for my students are simply unavailable for everyday use in the classroom.

My Project

Parents and teachers alike realize that it is almost impossible to stay current in our high tech world without using technology in the classroom. Using Sphero Robots for coding is one way to allow our students to stretch their cognitive wings and soar to a new level of technology. Sphero Robots will challenge, inspire and motivate while the students learn the 21st century skill of coding. We know that the earlier students are introduced to coding the more comfortable they will be later in life. Developing this skill may lead to a career in technology, at the very least students will see the computer as a valuable tool. We believe that if we are able to receive funding for the Sphero and the coding materials for it we will be able to impact the lives of our 1st Grade students now and in their future.

Your generous donations will enable teachers to introduce coding to some of our youngest learners.

As students learn, work together, problem solve and think outside of the box, they will be inspired to do more with coding. These Sphero Robots can and will open the windows of creativity allowing students to more fully explore the endless world of computing. In addition to classroom use, we are hopeful that we can start an after school coding club. We hope you will consider our request.
