Mr. Laskov from Rockford IL is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need two iPads to learn coding. We want to develop a class to teach our scholars to code, develop apps, and become computer literate thinkers.

We serve a group of highly motivated and interested learners. Our scholars have a growth mindset and are dedicated to learning as much as possible.
Not many of our scholars have regular access to the latest technology at home.
More than 90% of our scholars qualify for free and reduced lunch, which is the main indicator of household income.
Our school is dedicated to preparing scholars to be responsible, productive, college-educated adults capable of prospering in a changing global economy.
We want to develop a class to teach our scholars to code, develop apps, and become computer literate thinkers. We know how important these skills are to make our scholars competitive as they prepare for college and beyond. Code powers our digital world. Every website, smartphone app, computer program, calculator, and even microwave relies on code in order to operate.
Over the next 10 years it is estimated that there will be 1.4 million jobs in computer sciences and only around 400,000 graduates qualified to do them.
Jobs not directly linked to computer sciences - such as banking, medicine and journalism - will also be affected by the need for at least an understanding of programming and coding.
Your donation will help us to provide two iPads that will allow us to build an engaging and interactive class for our scholars in grades 5-8.
Your generosity will help us level the playing field for our scholars, teaching them necessary skills that will improve their thinking and problem solving abilities.
We appreciate any help you can offer.
