Cocoa and Care Cram-Chatter (the 4Cs That Glitter Like Diamonds)
Help me give my students mental spaces and time to prepare for their end-of-the-year Regents while they test each other on critical vocabulary in hot cocoa socials.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Students need the time and space to work on study skills like vocabulary memorization. The mugs will be reused weekly or biweekly (each student will be assigned a mug) with hot cocoa and marshmallows in a social setting so that they will pair up or be placed in groups of three for a safe and casual space to drill vocabulary with one another.
There's something about hot cocoa that eases the mind.
The assigned mugs (which I will personalize) incentivizes students personally to take an interest in coming to do practice drills with critical (or new) vocabulary. My students have said they struggle with retaining critical vocabulary. The goal is for students to practice the flashcard study skill in an enjoyable environment while catering to mental health because they become stressed when there is too much information to memorize or process (a.k.a. cramming for a test). Hopefully, by improving this study skill, it will teach them how to piecemeal information so that it doesn't become so overwhelming. What makes my students more special than those rare diamonds is that they ASKED for this, which means they care.
