My Students

This is my third year at my school and I love the excitement that students have for reading, learning, and hands-on activities! I am blown away by the love my students have for learning! Before Covid, there was always a constant stream of students in and out of the library!

My students are excited and eager to visit the library, to read and to complete STEM tasks!

We have a lot of fun learning time when the students come to the library for my classes.

My Project

My students love hands on activities and I love to tie in picture books to our STEM lessons. I want to use picture books about roller coasters and then have our students create their own roller coaster!

By designing their own roller coasters, students will be able to learn more about energy and friction and how these science topics work in the real world.

These are science concepts that my students need to be familiar with. Roller coasters are something my students know and love and this will be a great way to teach these concepts.

My students will be able to build roller coasters 2 ways: through the kits and with paper and a marble. They will be able to use trial and error to see if their design worked and if not, try again!

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
