Having a comfortable, clutter-free atmosphere is something that I think is important to consider before students can learn and be successful in a classroom. While I have not had a chance to meet my sweet students yet, I am already thinking about how to make their journey of growing in my classroom as comfortable and stress free as possible.
As a first year teacher, I want my students to be able to use all of the room available for them on our 6 small class tables for learning and not for storing books, folders, and workbooks.
This will be my first year teaching, and I am extremely excited to begin this journey. In my 1st grade classroom, I have 6 tables that will be the primary learning center for my students. Since our school provides tables instead of desks, my students have no space to store their class materials (workbooks, binders, folders, crayons) except in their area on top of the tables. I have a lot of FUN and engaging activities planned for this school year, and we are going to need all of our table space for them!
By providing chair pockets, my students will have a clutter-free space for learning with all of their class materials right behind them!
