This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are in the eighth grade and are, on average, 13 years old. These students are also served in the general education classroom in the inclusion program. I work with them in the general education classroom where I provide reading, writing, and math interventions to help them progress through grade levels.
A majority of my students are English language learners.
My students work super hard, and they are excited and eager to learn. They particularly need hands-on and computer online-based programs to improve their grade-level skills given that all of them function two or three levels below grade level. The school serves mostly underprivileged students with diverse staff.
My Project
As we prepare to enter the second semester of the school year in this COVID times, it is crucial students have face masks available in the classroom to remain safe while adhering to the COVID protocols. This is also a season of giving and rewarding students for their hard work in the course of the new year.
These face masks and spring clothing will keep students warm while rewarding them for their hard ward during these challenging times.
This will serve as an incentive to maintain hard work and finish the school year strong.
