Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My classroom is full of curious 1st and 2nd grade students. Students are developing reading and writing skills and applying them in practical and creative ways.

For example, February 8th, 2024, we held our first, "Invention Convention." Students identified problems or areas of development in our world.

We created inventions and presented ideas in a formal convention setting. Thus, the "Invention Convention," was born.

During this unit of study, there were some very obvious needs for our students. Our school has provided the resources for each student to have their own iPad assigned to them. However, devices are restricted to our classroom. Some of our students have limited resources and rely on our school for many resources, when available.

My goal is to provide devices that students would be allowed to check-out with a parent/guardian permission. The requested items would also allow for students to explore science, art, and many other fields of study with up-to-date technology. iPads and an Apple pencil would provide and opportunity our class would very much appreciate.

Our students come from a unique area where two countries meet and share a variety of cultures, values, and ideas. They share a perspective that is large and inclusive. These students WILL be leaders in tomorrow's world.

Thank you for considering a donation to help our classroom reach it's goal.
