My Project

The set of classroom calculators I'm requesting will be a game-changer for my students. In a low-income school, access to educational resources can be limited, exacerbating the learning gap. These calculators will provide my students with the tools they need to excel in their coursework and SAT preparation.

Here's how these calculators will make a difference:

Accessibility: Many of my students may not have access to personal calculators at home. By providing them in the classroom, all students will have equal access to this essential tool, ensuring that no one is left behind due to lack of resources.

Skill Development: The calculators will aid students in mastering mathematical concepts by providing instant feedback and allowing for hands-on practice. This interactive approach will strengthen their foundational skills and boost their confidence in tackling advanced problems.

SAT Preparation: As a SPED teacher, preparing my students for standardized tests like the SAT is crucial. These calculators will familiarize them with the tools they'll encounter during the exam, helping to alleviate anxiety, ensuring they perform to the best of their abilities on test day.

My goals for this project:

Closing the Learning Gap: By providing resources like calculators, I aim to narrow the learning gap between my students and their peers in different classes. Every student deserves access to quality education.

Empowering Students: I want my students to feel empowered and confident in their academic abilities. By equipping them with the tools they need to succeed, I hope to instill a sense of agency and self-assurance that will serve them beyond the classroom.

Despite facing challenges outside the classroom, students show up every day ready to learn and grow. Their tenacity inspires me, and I'm committed to providing them with the support and resources they need to reach their full potential.
