My Project

As a K-4 reading intervention teacher my goal is to provide my students with the supports they need to close their learning gaps in reading. In a small group setting I’m able to work with students one-on-one to meet their individual levels and needs. While rotating students in and out of one-on-one and small group instruction, I want to ensure that all students are still actively engaged and learning. With the use of technology students will have access to digital interventions, such as AI powered reading programs that promote independent reading and provide real-time student support and feedback, just like an in-person tutor. These programs also provide real-time student data and allow me to track student progress for effective intervention. I am asking for an iPad for my classroom so that students can have access to these digital interventions. Several programs powered by artificial intelligence are only compatible with iPads.

These digital interventions will help boost student’s reading comprehension and speed, provide text decoding strategies for students with learning disabilities like dyslexia, and assist emerging readers in developing confidence.
