My Students
My classroom is greatly affected by this three-month absence from the classroom setting. Although we have worked earnestly to instill a distance learning initiative through our google classroom, and the local telephone service is providing free hot spots for low-income families to access the internet, some of my students are unable to obtain a device to stay connected with our distance learning and virtual lessons.
My Project
Transitioning to middle school brings challenges both socially and academically. Many students experience an easier transition when the resources that they utilize are aligned with the resources that shaped their academic development and conceptual understanding.
Although the unfortunate current crisis has a great impact on our student's learning and development, It has a greater impediment on our learners who technology supports their learning, but does not possess one in their home environment.
Such a disconnect can be a major setback to their progress and deprive of the assistant technology that meets their learning needs.
As a result, I desire to provide one of my learners with a Chromebook with a Google Chrome license. This device will be used to provide him with the resource needed to stay connected with me via Google Classroom and Google Meet virtual lessons. It will allow him the opportunity for extensive game-like practice, engage in developmentally appropriate and differentiated assignments. Also, it will provide him the opportunity to access summer bridge activities to enhance his preparation for the next school year.
