I am in my 5th year teaching at a Title I school. My students have a variety of different backgrounds. We have a large population of migrant and immigrant students. I teach at a Title I school with a 90% free-reduced lunch rate.
I enjoy teaching at my school and working with such amazing, inspiring students.
I want my students to gain the knowledge and education they deserve. My students and I have a great relationship that is filled with love and respect. My students have such a respect for each other despite their differences. All my students are here to become better learners.
My Project
These materials will be perfect for close reading which is a concept students need to learn. The instant learning folders will be perfect for when we are doing reading groups and students can work on reading concepts independently or in small group. They will work great when we are learning these concepts such as main idea, summarizing, and writing strong sentences. My students struggle with writing strong sentences and these folders will help them create better sentences when writing. The clOSe reading discussion clips will help when we are reading a book during small group reading. While the students are reading I will give them the clips so they can work on close reading with a starting point. The close reading kids are perfect for what we are working on accomplishing as teachers.
This project will help my students be specific and comprehensive understanding of texts.
This is an alternative to reading on the computer and also have an interactive reading journal during seat work. The journals are perfect for my students as they can complete this daily and independently. We can also work on the journals as a whole group activity. The magnetic reading charts are perfect for what we learn during literacy. They are perfect so when we complete a chart I can save it to the side of my board and work on the next concept rather than erasing and starting over the next day.
