My Students

I teach 20 wonderful, enthusiastic innovators! Some of my students are homeless, some live with extended families and others come from single parent households. Regardless of their background or socio-economic standing, they each hold a spot in my heart and though they have been challenged with various learning and social and personal adversities, they each have persevered and are striving to be the BEST they can be! My students are part of a turn-around model this year where they are being challenged with academic rigor, learning to collaborate, communicate, show empathy, self-discipline, perseverance, and how to be creative!

My Project

The 4 in 1 kitchen set will bring my students excitement as they play in dramatic play. My students will be able to use their imaginations and be creative during center time.

Having new and updated furniture will ensure my students do not get hurt while they explore and play.

Our classroom dramatic play furniture has been passed from school to school over the past twelve years and our refrigerator tips over easily. Because of that, I have had to remove it from the center and my students do not have a full kitchen now.

If fully funded,my students will not only have fun but also be safe when visiting dramatic play, which builds students social-emotional skills, keeps them engaged and they develop a love for learning through hands-on exploration,which supports the APS vision.
