Clippity-Clop and Hippity Hop
My students need a set of temple blocks for our music classroom, which can be used to keep the beat and imitate sounds such as clippity-clops and hippity-hops!
Like every other school, we are faced with limited budgets. When our school opened six years ago the music department opened with a limited budget. I chose to purchase instruments over textbooks so our students could MAKE music! I am constantly trying to add to our instrumentarium.
Our school is located in rural North Carolina.
It serves a multi-cultural body of over 500 students. Our students range from Kindergarten through sixth grade. We are like a big happy family! Part of our school motto states "we are good to each other" and that is certainly true about our students!
Your donation will help purchase a set of temple blocks on a stand for our classroom. They can be used by students and teacher alike. Temple blocks are pitched woodblocks which means students can move up when they hear high pitches being played and likewise move down when they hear low pitches played. Temple blocks are great when creating soundscapes or adding sound effects to stories. Temple blocks are the perfect instrument for a horse that might go "clippity-clop" or a bunny that might "hippity-hop!"
This set of temple blocks will be used in all music classes from Kindergarten through grade six.
Music is a powerful art that encompasses many other subjects; math, history, literature and science (just to name a few!) So by your donation, you have a chance to impact many lives and many academic areas as well as the arts!
DonorsChoose makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America create classroom project requests, and you can give any amount to the project that inspires you.
