Words cannot describe how excited I am to have my first classroom! Due to the fact this is my first year teaching, I am trying to grow and expand my resources! In addition, our students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with 100% of students receiving free breakfast and lunch.
My school is also one of the most ethnically diverse schools in the city, where students speak a multitude of languages.
As diverse as our students are economically and culturally, they are diverse in their academics. Every day, I make sure to welcome my students with a smile on my face and, in return, they exchange a smile back, ready to learn and succeed. Despite many hardships my students may face, they are eager and put in their best effort. They know that our classroom is never about a perfect outcome; it is instead about the risks and effort put forth. My students certainly deserve a successful and engaging classroom, where they can become life long learners.
My Project
Dear donors, my fourth grade class and I are hoping to receive clipboards for our classroom. Clipboards will allow easier access for students to work around the classroom and have a strong board to write on. I am also hoping for a bin store the clipboards. Also, I am hoping for additional write and wipe maps so students can learn the regions. I have one currently and would like for a small group to have them to work and learn. I am also hoping for neon paper to send letters home to students.
