Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
What I love most about my students is their energy, curiosity, and resilience. Every day, they show up ready to move, play, and grow—not just physically, but mentally and emotionally as well. Many of them face challenges outside of school, but when they step into the gym, I see their joy, their potential, and their willingness to try something new.
The horizontal climbing wall will be a powerful tool for both physical and mental development.
It will challenge their bodies with strength and coordination, while also engaging their minds with problem-solving and perseverance. It creates opportunities for teamwork, confidence-building, and safe risk-taking in a supportive environment.
The volleyball net rack will help us keep our space organized, allowing more time for learning and less time spent managing equipment. It teaches responsibility and care for shared resources—skills that carry over into everyday life.
With these resources, my students will have the tools to not only improve their physical fitness but also develop focus, discipline, and self-belief—all essential qualities for success both in and out of the classroom.
