Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I'm excited to create a program that aims to enhance climate literacy among students by leveraging cutting-edge technology. Our project combines LittleBits STEAM kits and 3D printing filament to create engaging educational experiences centered around climate science. This project seeks to address the critical need for climate education in our school as well as the overall community. By integrating hands-on activities, we aim to foster a deeper understanding of climate-related phenomena and inspire the next generation of environmental stewards.

Imagine students transforming into environmental stewards as they utilize different design methods, shaping intricate models that breathe life into climate science concepts.

Driving deeper understanding begins through student engagement and these items will encourage students to explore climate science through experimentation, allow them to build circuits, assemble 3D models, and discuss real-world applications leading to a classroom environment that fosters curiosity and critical thinking. We will be developing Climate Science models by utilizing LittleBits STEAM kits to create modular climate data collectors and cover topics such as the climate change, ocean currents, and renewable energy.

Your support will bring opportunities to engage students in building and experimenting with electronic circuits, create and design 3D-Printed models representing climate-related concepts while also encouraging students to explore the physical aspects of climate science. My hope is that these learning explorations will result in students showcasing tangible representations of complex ideas (e.g., ocean circulation patterns), furthering their understanding of the complexities of our climate locally and around the world.
