My Project
My name is Ms. Crockett, and I am a 6th grade science/ social studies teacher for Baltimore City Public Schools. My goals for creating this project is to be able to provide the necessary materials needed to bring science education alive for my students.
Throughout the year, I try to provide as many hands on opportunities for students so that they can fully understand how complex and cool science truly is!
In our curriculum, I teach earth science, chemistry, physical science, and life science. There are hands on activities imbedded in the lessons, however, funding for those materials has become tricky-- especially when trying to fund materials for 100 students.
Items such as the perserved Perch will make make a HUGE impact on student learning by allowing my students to get the full experience that the curriculum calls for. My students are awesome, hilarious, and eager to learn; I want to make sure that I can do the most for them as I can!
