My students come from varied backgrounds and have limited financial resources. They live in the Desert and have no idea what is in the soil. They also have not idea what climate change can do to a biome such as the desert.
Understanding the soil and discovering what is in the soil would be beneficial for the students and will allow them to understand that the ground they walk on contains living things and how climate change can affect the soil.
Getting excited about dirt might not be everyone's cup of tea but it should pique interest in the students.
