Help me give my students materials to create climate change models, measurement tools, and a robotics map with a man-made disaster.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Merino's classroom raised $663

My Project
"You are never too small to make make a difference." -- Greta Thunberg
The Earth is our home and we need to do our part to take care of it.
My goal is to educate and motivate my students about climate change, its effects, and our role in finding solutions. My students all naturally provide unique solutions to everyday problems, so by providing them with the tools they need to learn about climate change issues, we can work together to make the world a better place.
My students struggle with abstract concepts, so creating models and engaging in hands-on activities and experiments will support their ability to understand climate change. The Climate Change 3-D Model Kit will provide students with opportunities to sequence the events and their impact on the Earth. The Brainstorm Sea Robotics Mat visually represents a disastrous event (oil spill) and we will incorporate a classroom robot and use coding to build clean-up solutions. Finally, we will use the Measurement Kit to engage in activities and experiments about rising sea levels and temperature changes.
To ignite my students' interest in climate change, I am committed to engaging them in learning and in action. With these materials, I know I will draw out their inner scientist!
