My Project

We can all share in the inspiration from #TeamSeas, a global campaign to remove 30M pounds of plastic and trash from our ocean, rivers and beaches. Let's take it a step further and engage students in finding solutions to one of our largest challenges.

Our intrepid and amazing engineering students are prototyping solar robots to safe guard our environment by cleaning plastic waste from their local beaches, waterways and community.

This grand challenge continues with power generation systems prototyping. Students will use their Design Thinking process to develop a solar powered system with an articulating solar panel. In teams, these amazing students will 3D model their articulating solar powered system.

Then, using their new PLA and classroom 3D printers they will move on to 3D printing refined prototypes. Finally, they will combined their 3D printed parts with their new servos and classroom motors to create fully functional solar systems. This grand challenge is just the thing to spark a love of the environment as well as engineering in this amazing group of your people.
