Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are bright eyed and ready to learn. They come from a background that is set in a small town with a lot of growth potential. As the growth all around booms the classroom is getting filled with more and more students, making it harder for individual materials.

Our school and district do all that they can to supplement but there is not enough money to fill in the extra needs.

Parents also do what they can but as the classroom grows so do our needs. With extra funding our students can continue to learn and grow in the 21st century and be prepared to take on any task set before them.

My Project

We have been doing STEM in the classroom for the 3rd year in a row. Even though it has been a great experience with materials bought by our teacher and materials we have collected from home, we'd like to take it to the next level. More LEGO blocks will allow us to build and engineer even 3D bridges, cars, towers, and mazes that will allow us the hands-on experience and imagination igniting fuel we crave.

What child doesn't love to build with LEGO blocks, especially in the classroom for an assignment?

Having these materials in our hands will allow us to continue to create and learn. We want to be the builders and inventors of the future and we feel having more of these building blocks will help guide us there.
