This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students live in a rural area of Fresno County in California. They are generally from a lower socioeconomic background and have not had the opportunity to have the experiences that others have had. Many of them are English language learners as well. It can be difficult to provide resources and other authentic experiences that can provide my students with more knowledge and background information.
Many of my students have limited experiences outside of the home or classroom.
I emphasize using technology in the classroom for problem solving and group work. We have 1-to-1 Chromebooks, but it can be difficult for some of the students to use the touchpad. Having a mouse will help students navigate their computers better and allow them to be more creative.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
