This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a 4th grade teacher in South Brooklyn who will be looping with my 3rd graders from the previous school year. We are an ICT (Integrated Co-Teaching) classroom of two teachers where our students are either learning disabled or non-disabled and learn together in an inclusive environment.

They deserve to learn and explore our world in the most healthiest and safest manner. They motivate me to work hard and do my best for them everyday. I am passionate about their kind little souls and will go great lengths to protect them amid the coronavirus pandemic.
My Project
My number one priority is to ensure that our fourth graders are learning in a safe environment when they return to the school building in September. A huge part of that is having clean air to breathe. At the moment, our classroom has no air conditioner. Even when we are provided with one, an AC does not serve to purify air. Some of our students are affected by seasonal allergies or asthma. As a result, they are more prone to respiratory infections. I am requesting a portable air purifier with filters in order to give my students, their families, and myself peace of mind during this unprecedented time as we continue to fight COVID-19.
"Being able to supply our classroom with a high quality medical grade air purifier which replaces 100% of the air in our space every hour will help keep our students protected from the COVID-19 virus".
While an air purifier will not eliminate the virus or make it disappear, it will certainly help to stop the spread of it. As the CDC has informed us, operating an air purifier should be a part of our protection plan along with other safety measures. My class and I will appreciate your support as we get through this unsettling and worrisome time.
