it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
For most of my students, it is their first time to attend school. So it is my goal to spark their interest in all aspects of their academics.
Pre-kindergarten students are very enthusiastic learners!
We are at a Title I school with a very high percentage of students and families living in low income homes. Most of my students are English language learners. While poverty and language can present barriers for my students, they are learning not to let their challenges get in the way of education. As their teacher, it is my job to create excitement in their daily routines at school in order to make their school experience fun and worthwhile.
My Project
Our classroom needs daily cleaning from eating breakfast in the classroom and from all of the arts and crafts activities we do. Sometimes, the custodial staff neglect to sweep the floor or vacuum the rugs. Although we have a broom, it is difficult for the adults to clean the area rugs. A clean environment is essential in learning! With these materials, we can keep our classroom clean and inviting for our students to come to school.
Cleanliness starts in prek!
As adults, we also have to show the students how to clean up after eating or craft-making. We can also use these cleaning tools to model how to clean up, so that when our students go home, they can also help their parents keep their homes clean.
