This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Since leaving my previous school in Florida at the end of 2023, I have been on a mission to recreate the technological standards I had become accustomed to at my current location in Arizona. Thanks to Donors Choose and several generous benefactors, I procured a fantastic projector with a large screen countrywide. The next piece needed is a quality document camera.

As my title suggests, the piece of equipment that I have been issued is a very old, lower-end document cam.

Even with the crisp clarity of my projector and the size of my projection screen, the images can only be as good as the camera that is capturing them.

I hope to acquire an Elmo document camera similar to the one I have previously used. It is a fantastic piece of equipment, and the images it generates are of very high quality. As excited as I was when I got my projector hooked up, many students still complain about the picture being too fuzzy for them. Unfortunately, I can not argue their point since I can see what they are discussing. With the addition of an Elmo cam to my setup, I feel that any image issues will be rectified, and every student will be able to see the notes, videos, simulations, etc., with extreme clarity. If not, I will recommend a trip to the nearest optometrist!
