This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My school is in a small, rural community. Most of my 5th grade students come from low-income homes. Over 75% of the school population receives free and reduced lunch. Despite the poverty level of most of my students, they are always eager to try new ideas.
My Project
Keeping a clean classroom is of utmost importance in Lake Worth, Florida. With the pandemic still relevant, a clean classroom will decrease the chances of having kids sick. My students will use the Clorox Disinfecting Wipes to clean their work surfaces at least once a day with disinfecting wipes. Paper towels were just our lifeline always. Once they wipe down their desk, they use a paper towel to dry it. These simple tasks are very crucial to teaching the students how to be more self-sufficient and responsible. It may seem like something simple but paper towels are a huge need in our class. When the kids spill something or need to dry their desks, the paper towels are available to them. I cannot tell you how many packs of paper towels we have gone through this past year! Glue is used every day in my classroom. It can be simply connecting two pieces of paper together or it can be watered down and used as a paper paste! Glue has many uses in our classroom as my students become scientists.
Glue our school (and my classroom) together with cleaning supplies.
