Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students live in an impoverished area of South Los Angeles. All of my students come from low-income families. We are a Title I school where ninety-nine percent of our students receive free meals. My students always try their best at everything and anything, despite the challenges that they face in their daily lives.
They are already not expected to have it as easy as others, but we learn that with hard work and consistency, they can be "unique" or different from the rest.
My students are so eager to learn that it makes coming to work easy!
My Project
Due to Covid-19 many parents are concerned about sending their child back to the classroom full time especially with the uncertainties. This is why I felt the need to help provide my students with personal hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes, disinfecting spray, Swiffer mopping cloths, and soap for a clean and anti-germ classroom to help everyone in the classroom feel safe and protected in the learning environment.
Helping provide all my low-income students with wipes to be able to clean down desks and learning areas/materials will keep everyone safe and prevent the risk of Covid-19 spreading in the classroom.
It is crucial for students to feel safe in school even during the ongoing pandemic. Keeping my students safe at all times especially when in the classroom is one of my main priority and with the help of donations it can ensure that I am able to give my students all that they deserve while keeping them safe.
