My students come from a tough neighborhood, but you wouldn't think that by just looking at them. They strive for greatness and are always willing to lend a helping hand.
My students come to school every day ready and willing to learn.
They love to help out around the classroom. We provide breakfast for them every day in the classroom. When someone drops something, someone is always immediately up getting the one broom and dustpan we have. They are proud of themselves for keeping our classroom clean.
My Project
Our school is an underfunded charter school in Detroit. Parents are supportive, but cannot afford to donate items such as Kleenex, Lysol wipes, and baby wipes. With these items, my students will have the cleaning supplies, such as Lysol Disinfecting Wipes, they need to help keep our classroom a germ free, safe place. The children will be able to use the dry erase markers and erasers to keep track of their jobs on the classroom dry-erase board. Which will instill a sense of accomplishment when the jobs are done and they can erase it off the board.
Funding this project will help provide classroom jobs for the children; table cleaners, board cleaners, sweepers, etc.
It will give them a sense of independence and teach them about responsibilities. It will also help them learn about keeping their space neat and clean, and what happens when we don't.
