I teach twenty-five amazingly creative 4th and 5th graders in an urban setting. Our school is very diverse. From economic to family and ethnic diversity, we celebrate everyone. We are also an inclusive school, which means that every class has children with special needs. We teach a peaceful approach to learning together and celebrate our differences.
My students are dreamers, thinkers, talkers, and questioners.
They are mini sources of inspiration to themselves and others around them, even if they don't know it yet. They are budding ambassadors, world travelers, scientists, entrepreneurs, and teachers. They are our future, and I want to give them a great start to their long, successful careers.
Let's face it, children are active. Throughout the day, students are moving around. With all of the activity, students need to be able to stay hydrated.
Our school is currently undergoing construction, which has led our plumbing to have some issues.
These students love to bring in their own water bottles but are unable to use the classroom sink due to the water coming out cloudy and white. I want to promote healthy water drinking habits, but the water is questionable.
This Big Berkey Gravity-Fed Water Filter will allow the students to have a place they can come to for water they can trust. Please help fund our project to help us grow up healthy.
