My students need assorted cleaning supplies to ensure that our laboratory facilities are kept clean and sanitary for our resident animals.

My Students
Do you remember the favorite pet you had growing up and how it made you feel? For my students, my program is not only a great place to get important job skills, but a chance for them to experience the human-animal bond that our animals provide to us.
My students are 11th and 12th graders who attend an inner-city school.
Many of them come from low income families, single parent households, and have little or no support in their pursuit of education. In spite of their difficult lives, my students have a passion for animals, and hope to not only pursue careers in the animal health care industry, but to become an ambassador and champion for animals.
My Project
Everyone has heard the saying "cleanliness is next to godliness." Well, in a program filled with animals, that is actually quite true! We follow strict cleaning procedures on a daily basis to ensure optimum health of both the animals and the students. We clean cages and food bowls, sweep and mop the floor, and launder towels and bedding. This not only keeps humans and animals healthy, but also helps the students develop important job skills, and experience in following written procedures and routines. To complete these cleaning chores, we need paper towels, disinfectant cleaning spray, laundry detergent, and replacement mops.
Like most districts, our budgets continue to be cut year after year.
By donating to this project, you will help ensure our ability to continue to provide an amazing animal science program, complete with a wide array of live, healthy animals. Hands-on practice in the animal health care field is critical to career success, and for my students, this practice would not be possible without this program.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
