Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Clean up, clean up, everybody every where clean up. Students are diving into their various interests but need to be constantly motivated and remember to clean up after they are done.
My students are 2nd graders that have been accepted into the Gifted and Talented academy for our district.
Being young and identified as gifted, they should be challenged in academics and technology. Most of my students do not have computers at home, which means students need to learn about technology and resources in the classroom. Students learn how to work collaboratively with each other through online resources, but are also provided some opportunities to have fun on the computers.
My Project
My classroom is becoming more diverse, but still needs to be in order. I am requesting posters with tape to hang them up so that students can be constantly reminded about what is out there to work with. Students need to have visual reminders and cues.
With all the small pieces students are able to work with, I would like to have students able to put pieces away where they belong. The shelves will be able to house the plastic tubs with the pieces in them. This will make it easier for students to find and put away exactly what they are looking and working with. The 5 drawer organizers will help keep pieces in their correct places while being organized.
Having a label maker is the cherry on top. This will allow me to easily label where everything is.
If students are more aware of where everything comes from and should be put away to, it will make it faster for students to set up and break down.
With less time setting up and breaking down students will have more time to engage and have fun!
