My students are amazing and enthusiastic learners. They have a zest for life. They love coming to school and being engaged in the learning process. My students are in 4th-6th grade and attend a class for students with multiple severe disabilities. Depending on their disability they require different levels of support and accessibility.
My students are excited young learners who thrive in an active and safe learning environment.
I need to provide as many experiences as possible to help stimulate learning. I also need to maintain a healthy and clean learning environment that is free from tripping hazards.
My Project
I am requesting a cordless hand vacuum and a floor sweeper to help keep our classroom clean. 7 years ago I wrote a project for a small stick vacuum for our classroom and we have used that ever since. It now needs to be replaced. Our current classroom does not have very many places to plug things in and the cords don't reach. Therefore, we need a vacuum and sweeper that does not need to be plugged in when in use.
Messes happen and we need a way to clean them up!
This is also an important skill for my students to learn in our special education classroom. My students are learning to eat cleanly, clean up messes, and having a sweeper and vacuum that does not require a cord will prevent tripping hazards and maintain safety.
