This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students at my school understand the value and opportunities that an amazing education can provide. All of my students come from low-income homes, but that does not stop them from pursuing their dreams.
Our community and our families have been hit particularly hard by COVID-19.
But even before COVID-19 many of these students already faced daily challenges at home and outside the classroom. With dedicated teachers and staff, we transitioned seamlessly into online learning and continued to provide a safe space for our students and families during this unprecedented time. Our scholars were able to adapt to online learning because of their motivation and their thirst for knowledge.
As we continue in these uncertain times I know that our students will be able to adapt to whatever changes come our way. The resiliency and perseverance of our students is what makes our school community great.
My Project
This school year will be unprecedented as we head into hybrid learning. In order to safely be in the classroom, we as a community will need to ensure that it is clean daily!
By providing wipes, paper towels, tissues, and cleaner we will be able to keep our science classroom and equipment safe this upcoming school year.
I try to make science a very hands-on experience for my students and this year will be no different, even in the midst of a pandemic. In order to ensure my students are safe, we will need to take proper precautions in the science classroom. The lab equipment that we will use throughout the school year will be shared. This means that on lab days students will need to carefully disinfect each piece of equipment used during activities. By donating to this project you will help provide the supplies we will need to safely share common lab equipment.
