My Students
My students this school year are a unique group. While participating in virtual learning, I have students who are truly engaged in their learning in our virtual classroom. A few are still working on developing skills that will benefit them and their learning styles. My students' goal is to develop skills that will have them energized for learning and make them successful for life.
What stands out with this group of students is their energy for learning new things and becoming student leaders in kindergarten.
They are resourceful, inquisitive and are willing to work together while distance-learning. For example, a few of my students are learning to give shout-outs to their peers. Their goal is to be encouraging. While working in small group peer-learning, students take the lead in reinforcing daily activities. My group may be a busy bunch, but they love their learning and I'm so grateful for all of them.
My Project
When teaching in a kindergarten class, the rug areas are a must! Learning happens where students can be most comfortable and can be engaged safely with materials and other students. I'm extremely grateful for the rug that DonorsChoose arranged in 2019, but I need to keep it clean regularly.
Since the start of the pandemic, making the learning area safe is of the most importance.
The rugs are where literacy is learned and a resourceful seating chart. Children learn best when they are safe, secure, and comfortable. Thank you.
