This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My 18 kindergarten students are eager to learn and enjoy stories read to them and in need of having the necessary books readily available to continue learning from home. They come from a low socioeconomic background and in most cases come from homes where parents do not read to them, or do not have the means to access technology. My students live in an impoverished community in East Los Angeles. My students are from predominantly Latino backgrounds. They range from newly arrived immigrants to third-generation immigrants. I have students that do not have adequate resources to keep learning from home. The students that I work with are receiving free school lunches. Despite the challenges my students face, they are happy children who want to learn.
My Project
Please help me provide my students with antibacterial soap and other soaps so they can continue to keep their hands clean as we approach the fall and winter months. It essential that my kindergarten students wash their hands frequently and often. We often run out of soap in the classroom and these soaps will provide my students with the tools that they need to keep their hands clean, and for them to maintain healthy habits. My students and I would be very much appreciative with your donation to our project.
