This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are resilient, hard-working, and kind. As a math teacher in a Title I school, I have a diverse population of students. I focus on cultivating a safe learning environment for students to take risks, make mistakes, and grow their math knowledge.

Only my classroom trash is taken out once a day because the custodial crew at our school is understaffed.

Due to the limited time and resources, they do not sweep, vacuum, or mop. With nearly one hundred students entering and leaving my classroom on a daily basis, the filth builds up. The vacuum and wipes will help give my students a clean and safe learning environment. I would have the tools to support the custodians and provide a clean space for my students.
