Clean, Healthy, and Ready to Learn in 2017-2018!

My students need Clorox Wipes, Kleenex, hand sanitizer, hand soap and healthy snacks to keep our classroom healthy and clean and our minds and bodies ready to learn!

My Students

My scholars are a diverse group of fifth graders that live in a rural community in Hawaii. Students living in these areas often have limited resources and experiences that are usually available to students their age living in the United States.

As their teacher, I hope to provide opportunities for learning through novel studies, project based learning, and cooperative group discussion on current global issues.

These scholars amaze me each day when they are focused on what they are learning, when they are engaged in the lessons, and when they are excited about what they will learn about next.

My Project

Student absences due to illness can be reduced by practicing healthy habits such as washing hands with soap often, using hand sanitizer regularly, and disinfecting high traffic surfaces in the classroom. These supplies will help to decrease the amount of germs that are passed around our classroom.

Establishing cleanliness and good hygiene are essential for promoting good health.

These supplies will help students practice and establish the essential life skills needed for a healthy lifestyle. Donating to this project will also help ensure students are ready to learn by providing them snacks such as pretzels, granola bars, and Goldfish when they are hungry-producing the necessary brain power to maintain learning throughout the day.
