This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

What makes my students special? Their potential! I see future computer programmers, doctors, engineers, dentists, musicians, artists, teachers, aide workers, botanists, etc.

My students have the resiliency and integrity to be the leaders of the 21st century.

They are eager learners and will make the 21st century, a century of great discoveries for obstacles facing mankind such as cures for diseases, colonizing space, protecting our ozone, ending droughts and starvation, etc.

Many of my students have environmental obstacles like low socioeconomic statuses, poor housing, insufficient positive role models, lack of basic needs such as a coat or a pencil. Yet, they overcome and rise. They enter my classroom daily, with a smile and a need to learn. They want to make the world a better place for themselves and the future.

I was in the same shoes as my students at one time. I was a foster student in the same city and knew words like​ fear, hunger, poor, and pain. I knew I was a stereotype, but thanks to teachers and their introduction to literature, I learned about other worlds around me, to have integrity, and to be resilient.

My Project

These supplies will help me keep the classroom clean and sanitized.

We have learned many lessons on combating the coronavirus; keeping our classroom sanitized is one of our tools to keep our classrooms open for learning.

The Microban Disinfectant Sanitizing spray will be used to keep high touch areas sanitized. The Mr. Clean Magic Erasers work magic on desks. They are also used to keep the newly painted walls in our classroom scuff and finger print clean. My room was finally painted for the first time in 14 years! The Febreze is to keep their sitting carpet clean and smelling fresh. The multi surface cleaner is to clean up all areas in the room and the wipes to keep their devices clean. I'm excited about the pencil dispenser. This way I can disinfect spray pencils down, and place them in the dispenser, so each student is assured a clean pencil when needed. We also need printer ink cartridges.
