Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are a wonderful group of middle school kids undergoing emotional, physical, and many changes in their young teen lives. As they go through their everyday lives of a teenager they have learned to express themselves through writing.
My students are brilliant and highly motivated teens looking for an opportunity to express themselves.
These kids face many challenges on a daily basis. We forget that inside those developing bodies and minds still lie a child waiting to explore the wonders of the world. All these kids want to do is find someone that will give them a chance to show that they have the abilities to write and do many other things. Some of my students come from broken homes, some have illnesses they are battling, financial situations in which they can't even afford a school lunch, and the list goes on and on. I just want to try to bring in some kind of hope to them at least by writing and giving them the inspiration that they can express themselves.
My Project
My students enjoy coming in every day to a nice clean environment. In the classroom, they feel the comfort that allows them to relax and enjoy their learning. The students are also learning home economics by volunteering to help clean up the classroom. They deserve a clean place where they can come to and feel at home too. These cleaning supplies will allow us to maintain the classroom clean and clean up everyday little accidents so that we don't have to stop instructional time waiting for someone to come clean up. Thank you so much for supporting our little home away from home.
