Our school is 57 years old and is located in the largest city in Oregon. Like many schools in our district, our school population is very diverse, with over 25 different languages spoken and a high level of poverty. My class consists of students with mixed abilities, languages and cultural backgrounds. They are always energetic, smart, and thoughtful fourth graders who are eager to learn. For many of them, school provides safety, stability, food and support that they don’t have at home.
I'd like to enhance my students educational experience by ensuring they are learning in a healthy and clean classroom.
My Project
My students are in need of Clorox Disinfecting Wipes, Clorox Hand Sanitizer, Colgate toothbrushes and Colgate toothpaste. Keeping germs to a minimum in a classroom of 30 elementary students can be a challenge. In order to provide them with a healthy environment to be able to continue coming to school, I'd like them to be able to disinfect their desks each day. In addition, they could benefit from using hand sanitizer when they enter in the morning and before going to lunch. Lastly, many of my students lack personal hygiene tools to keep them healthy, so I'd like to provide them each with a Colgate toothbrush and Colgate toothpaste.
